Although new operating systems often bring exciting features and applications, many Apple users may not want to update immediately when new versions are released. In response, the renowned Silicon Valley giant has made a decision to address this issue.
Apple Allows Waiting for iOS 18 Update!
Apple has officially announced that iOS 18 will be available to the public next week, on September 16. This major update will introduce many new features to users. However, some users may prefer to delay the update due to the risks of bugs and incompatibility with critical applications.
In consideration of this, Apple will continue to provide updates containing security patches for users who choose to remain on iOS 17.
Earlier this week, Apple released the final release candidate (RC) of iOS 18.0 to developers and public beta testers, while also releasing the iOS 17.7 RC version. It has been noted that iOS 17.7 does not introduce new features but includes security patches and bug fixes.
Apple is likely to release iOS 17.7 simultaneously with iOS 18.0 next week. This will allow users to see both the iOS 18 update and the iOS 17.7 security update in their iPhone and iPad settings, giving them the option to choose which version to stay on.
By offering a similar option in the past, Apple aims to minimize the risk of users encountering faulty or incompatible applications.
This update strategy will help users feel more comfortable making version choices, especially since it may take time for some applications to become fully compatible with iOS 18. Alongside iOS 18, Apple will also release iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia updates during the same period.
